Prague, 25 June, 2012 - Ms Rong Yi and Mr Dayong Li, President and Director of the Global Service Center for Quitting the Communist Party of China from New York visited the Institute and Archive where they presented the activities of the Tuidong movement. The movement founded in 2004 collects written declarations from people both from the exile Chinese community and from the Peoples` Republic of China on their withdrawal of memberschip from all the organisations of the CCP (young pioneers, communist youth league, CCP). The signatories (who need not be members of the CCP) thus distance themselves from the violent ideology of the Communist party and from the practices and consequences of its policy. According to the movement, more than 118 million people have quit the CCP this way so far. After a presentation and discussion with Director of the Institute Daniel Herman and Director of the Archive Zlatuše Kukánová, the guests visited the Security Services Archive where the access to documents on crimes of the communist regime was demonstrated to them.
