Nov. 29, 2004-- First statement of “Quitting the CCP” came outThe first “Quit the CCP” statement was published on the Quit the CCP Statement Website, http://tuidang.epochtimes.com/. Dec. 31, 2004-- The “Goodbye CCP Coalition” formedThe Coalition was formed by more than 60 global organizations. Jan. 12, 2005-- A “Solemn Statement of The Epoch Times” was publishedFeb. 22, 2005-- Global Service Centre for Quitting the CCP formedSponsored by more than 10 organizations including The Epoch Times, the Goodbye CCP Coalition, the Nine Commentaries website and the China Affairs website, the non-profit Global Service Centre for Quitting the CCP was formed to help people quit the Party. July 3, 2005Twenty five TV channels in mainland China including CCTV were tapped into, airing the documentary of the Nine Commentaries on Chinese Communist Party and the news that one million people had quit CCP, effectively spreading word of the Quit the CCP movement in China. July 15, 2005-- 3 million Chinese people quit the CCPMore than three million people published their “quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations” statements on the Quit the CCP Statement website. On July 22, people from 50 countries and regions, both Chinese and a variety of other ethnic groups, gathered in Washington D.C., adding momentum to the wave of quitting the CCP. Dec. 6, 2005-- World first 'Quit the CCP' postage stamp issuedThe New Zealand postal service issued the first Quit the CCP postage stamp designed by volunteers from the New Zealand Quit the CCP Service Center. The stamp is themed "Celebrating Six Million People Quitting the CCP." (more) Dec. 12, 2005— Prominent Chinese lawyer Gao Zhisheng quit the CCPGao Zhisheng, a famous lawyer in Beijing, accompanied by Guobiao Jiao, a Beijing university professor, conducted a 15-day independent investigation in north China in late November. Based on the investigation, Gao published his third open letter to the Chinese President and Prime Minister on Dec 12 entitled, The Brutal Actions of Destroying Our National Conscience and Morality Must Be Stopped Now. In the letter, Gao exposed the truth of the brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China. Afterwards he quit the Party, in his statement calling the CCP “the evil Party without any kindness and humanity.” “This is the most proud day of my life,” he said. Jan. 25, 2006The general assembly of the EU Parliament passed the resolution Need for International Condemnation of Crimes of Totalitarian Communist Regimes in Strasbourg, France. Mr. Lindblad, who drafted the resolution, said it was a New Year’s gift for the Chinese people. He said the Nine Commentaries is a valuable document and there are many signs that the CCP is collapsing. Feb. 5, 2006Cable TV signals in Haicheng city, Liaoning Province were tapped into, broadcasting the Nine Commentaries on 25 channels, marking another great triumph in breaking through the CCP’s information blockade. Feb. 14, 2006-- 8 million Chinese people quit the CCPMore than 8 million people quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations as shown by the statistics on the Quit the CCP website. Increasingly more communist members are giving up their allegiance to the CCP. They published their statements to support the non-violent movement of denouncing the CCP. Mar. 9, 2006A journalist told The Epoch Times that a secret concentration camp was located at Sujiatun in Shenyang city, Liaoning province. According to subsequent Epoch Times reports, thousands of Falun Gong practitioners were detained there. Their vital organs were snatched for sale and their bodies burned. A special editorial called Supporting 9 Million People Who Quit the CCP, Ending CCP Fascism was published by The Epoch Times. It said, “Sujiatun concentration camp reveals the hidden crimes of the CCP which are humiliating modern civilization and trampling basic human morality.” It called on the international community to “investigate the organ harvesting concentration camp and help stop it.” April 4, 2006The Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (CIPFG) in China was founded by the Falun Dafa Association and the Minghui Website. It invited celebrities from all walks of life to form a delegation, the aim being to go to different prisons, labor camps and detention centers in China to investigate and collect evidence in order to bring an end to the persecution. On May 8, former Secretary of State David Kilgour and well-known human rights lawyer David Matas, both Canadians, held a press conference on Parliament Hill announcing the start of their independent investigation into the organ harvesting allegations. April 20, 2006CCP head Hu Jintao met with US President George Bush at the White House. Falun Gong practitioner Wang Wenyi, a medical doctor, shouted to Hu: “Falun Dafa is good” and “Stop persecuting Falun Gong,” which was covered by many media. On same day, a press conference was held in Washington where Anne and Peter, two whistleblowers on the Sujiatun concentration camp, testified in public. April 25, 2006-- 10 million Chinese people quit the CCPMore than 10 million people quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations. Rallies and parades were held all over the world to show support and condemn the organ harvesting. May 19, 2006Mr. Edward McMillan-Scott, EU Parliamentary Vice-president, visited China for a three-day “truth discovering” trip. He met with some diplomats, specialists and scholars, NGOs and some Falun Gong practitioners. He made the assertion that communist tyranny would dissolve. He expressed his support for the Quit the CCP movement and said he hoped that all members would withdraw from the Party. June 17, 2006-- 11 million Chinese people quit the CCPMore than 11 million people quit CCP and its affiliated organizations as shown by the statistics on the Quit the CCP website. June 21, 2006The U.S government dropped all charges over Dr. Wang Wenyi’s outburst during Hu Jintao’s visit. July 6, 2006David Matas and David Kilgour released a report following a two-month inquiry into allegations that vital organs were being seized from Falun Gong practitioners across China. Entitled An investigation into Allegations of Organ Harvesting of Falun Gong Practitioners in China, the report concluded that “their (Falun Gong practitioners) vital organs…… were virtually simultaneously seized for sale at high prices.” The report said that for the past five years in communist China, these crimes were conducted systematically under government instruction. The authors called this practice “a new form of evil on the planet.” July 25, 2006-- 12 million Chinese people quit the CCPMore than 12 million people quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations as shown by the statistics on the Quit the CCP website. Aug. 8, 2006Sheng Yuan, an airline captain from China Eastern Airlines, held a press conference in Los Angeles and announced his intention of seeking political asylum because he was turned in to the authorities for helping people quit the CCP at the Shanghai airport before he left on a scheduled flight. Sheng’s act added momentum to the quit CCP movement and shocked Beijing authorities. Sep. 9, 2006A series of editorials called Dissolving the Culture of the Chinese Communist Party was published by The Epoch Times in an effort to restore China’s traditional values and culture and peacefully move China toward a new era of freedom and prosperity. Oct. 22, 2006Jia Jia, the former Secretary General of the Association of Science and Technology Experts of Shanxi Province left his tour group upon arriving in Taiwan and sought political asylum. On Oct 27, Jia Jia held a press conference in Hong Kong at which he testified to the validity that more than 14 million people have quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations. Jan. 31 2007 -- revised report Bloody Harvest releasedDavid Matas and David Kilgour, the authors of An investigation into Allegations of Organ Harvesting of Falun Gong Practitioners in China released an updated version of their report at the Canadian Parliament. Called Bloody Harvest, the revised report produced additional evidence that the practice of illicit organ harvesting is continuing. The report said many CCP military hospitals got involved in the crime and named as an example the Beijing Armed Police General Hospital. Many politicians, media and international organizations expressed their concerns and their support of an overall investigation. Mar. 30, 2007On Parliament Hill in Ottawa, Ms. Zhang Jiyan, the wife of a diplomat who serves in the Chinese Embassy in Canada, publicly announced her withdrawal from the CCP at a rally organized to support 20 million Chinese people quitting the Party. Because Zhang spoke to people about the persecution of Falun Gong she was noticed by the embassy, monitored and spied on. She had no choice but to leave the embassy on March 5, seeking political asylum from the Canadian government. The event attracted wide attention. Three US senators, government officials from many other countries, and scholars and journalists reviewed and discussed the Quit the CCP movement triggered by the Nine Commentaries as well as the evil nature of the CCP. July 20, 2007Rallies were held in Washington to call for an end to the persecution and to support those who quit the CCP. May 17, 2008Volunteers and activists from the Global Service Center for Quitting the CCP rallied outside the library on Main Street in Flushing, New York, to support 36 million Chinese people quitting the CCP and its affiliated organizations. Prior to the rally, a minute’s silence was observed for the earthquake victims in Sichuan. Many speakers expressed their support and congratulated the Chinese who quit the CCP. They also condemned the CCP’s initial slowness in rescuing people and their ignorance of how to conduct relief efforts.
