Note: The following resignations published on March 1, 2005, was by 46 senior party members who work in China’s military nuclear industry. All who resigned are long-time Party members, with tenures from 30 to 50 years. One of them joined the Party in the 1930s.The accompanying photo shows the name list this group submitted. Mr. Zhang, who is 80 years old, organized this group’s resignation. The following are selections from an interview he gave to Epoch Times reporters Feng Changle and Liu Di. “We all had not turned in fees for the CCP for over 4 years [according to the CCP’s Charter, those who do not turn in membership fees or join CCP activities for over half a year would be considered as having automatically resigned]. All of us had something splendid in our past careers. But think about what we did? Whatever the Kuomintang [the nationalist party defeated by the CCP in 1949] did not do—the CCP did; the bad things CCP asked its people not to do, CCP itself did all of them. Why? The CCP kept doing bad things, meanwhile not allowing others to do any good deed. Whoever would do some good thing, the CCP would find fault with, and be angry with him or her. Though we came to this understanding really late, yet we are most resolute. “There are many in the military industry who stopped turning in the CCP membership fees…In the Past, we all had some naive illusions about the CCP. After learning from our sons and daughters and friends and colleagues, what it did in the past few years, we were all shocked. For example, I heard from my child that in the Wudaping region of Gansu Province, over 2000 Falun Gong practitioners were jailed there—thousands jailed in Tainzhu County Prison. The weather in these places is all adverse and terrible—even in June there would be snow. These people were forced to do hard labor in the mines and went though inhuman torture. Many were tortured to death, or disabled and made ill. They are all good people, good kids. What is the big deal that they have their own belief? Oh, just jail them because they believe in something different from the CCP? It is too much. Why treat them in this way? Even Kuomintang did not do this. We are so very disillusioned with the CCP and no longer hold any hope out for it… “Recently, official notices have been passed down in the nuclear industry and the committee of defense technology as well as the military industry saying that people like us, by no means, can be allowed to resign from the CCP—even though we stopped turning in CCP membership fee. I feel it is almost like the mafia now. One can enter but cannot exit—it is just like an underground mafia.” “The corruption of the CCP leads Chinese people into misery. The collapse of the CCP is no longer a proposition, it is a reality. ‘If man does not manage it well, Heaven will.’” March 1, 2005 - The name list on the Quit CCP statement Chinese website
