Deceived by the evil doctrines of communism, I joined the CCP in 1947. During the Civil War, I went through fire and ice for the CCP and almost lost my life. The CCP's strategy at that time was to seize power by encircling the cities from the rural areas. Though we peasants played an important role in its success. But once the CCP grasped power, we were listed as second-class citizens. Several veteran CCP members and demobilized soldiers in my village risked our lives for the CCP in war and are now left with many serious illnesses. Most of us are physically unable to work and have no source of income. We cannot even afford medicine with our pitiful allowances. We have been living in poverty during the decades of the CCP's dictatorship.

The CCP taught us to bear hardships first and enjoy comforts last. However, my experience tells me that this evil Party only wants to seize and maintain power, and that it has no conscience nor does it ever show solicitude for others. The economic reforms and policy of opening up adapted from Western countries brought some improvements to the Chinese people's quality of life. But the CCP has become utterly corrupt. It does have the support of the people and fears that the people will support someone else. Why did the CCP kill so many students who protested at Tiananmen Square in 1989? Why does the CCP persecute Falun Gong practitioners and put kind and innocent people in prison? After seeing what the CCP has done to all the innocent Chinese people, I finally realized the evil nature and cruelty of the CCP. I feel ashamed to be a member of the CCP, a Party that will soon be swept out of the history. I hereby formally declare my withdrawal from the CCP and thank The Epoch Times website for giving me the opportunity to post my resignation statement.
