About 3:00 p.m. on August 7, 2006, when Ms. Wen Yingxin was posting Falun GongWen Yingxin informational materials in the Dabei District, Shenyang City, Liaoning Province, someone reported her to the authorities. At around 5:00 p.m. on August 16, staff from the Xiaobei Police Station (the “case handling unit”) informed Ms. Wen’s family that she was at Shenyang City 739 Hospital. When Ms. Wen’s parents and some of her relatives arrived at the 739 Hospital, they saw that Ms. Wen was in bed and breathing through an oxygen tube. Her electrocardiogram showed a straight line. She appeared to be unconscious, and barely breathing.

Ms. Wen died at 10:00 p.m. that night.

Ms. Wen Yingxin, 34 years old, was employed as an accountant by the Shenyang Aerospace Xinguang Corporation. She graduated from the College of Commerce of Shenyang University with a degree in accounting. She began to practice Falun Gong in 1997.

In June 2002, due to expressing support for Falun Gong in public, Ms. Wen was detained at the Shenyang Longshan Detention Center. At the end of 2002, she was transferred to the Zhangshi Forced Labor Camp for two years of forced labor. Because she refused to renounce her belief in Falun Gong, guard Shi Fengyou from the Longshan Forced Labor Camp shocked her with electric batons, injuring her face and mouth.

In March 2003, Ms. Wen was taken back to the Longshan Forced Labor Camp. She was subjected to various tortures: shocking by electric batons, deprivation of sleep, violent brainwashing, slave labor and beatings. Ms. Wen went on a hunger strike many times to protest the persecution. The guards shackled her limbs to the ground and force-fed her a concentrated salt solution. Ms. Wen lost consciousness and was then unable to walk.

In August 2003, Ms. Wen went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. Over two months later, she was taken to Liaoning Province Prisoners’ Hospital, where she was handcuffed to a bed, injected with unknown drugs and force-fed. She became incontinent, losing control of her bowels and bladder. She had blood in her bowel movements. Her liver and spleen were injured, and she was dying. The guards were afraid to take responsibility, so, in December 2003, they ordered Ms. Wen’s mother to take her home. After practicing Falun Gong at home, Ms. Wen’s health soon recovered.

Wen Yingxin's sonHer son Yang Baoxu is seven years old. The authorities repeatedly harassed and detained Ms. Wen. The situation caused Ms. Wen to leave her son and not be able to spend time with him. The boy Baoxu was longing to stay with his mom. On the day of Ms. Wen’s birthday, Baoxu wrote a wish on a piece of paper to her, it read, “Yang Baoxu grows up with mom, happy and together.”

In May 2005, Ms. Wen’s husband divorced her because of the CCP’s long-term persecution and tremendous pressure. Her 7-year-old son thus lost his mother’s care.

Currently, the police are holding Ms. Wen’s remains. However, no one but the authorities knows where her remains are being kept. Ms. Wen’s family traveled to the Shenyang City Detention Center to demand justice, but it was in vain.
